Leg Tai Yin and Deep Leg Line

 Leg Tai Yin: Spleen Sinew Channel

 ·  Begins at the medial side of the big toe at Yīnbài SP-1

·  Ascends the foot to bind at the medial malleolus at Shāngqiū SP-5

·  Ascends the medial aspect of the tibia to bind at the medial side of the knee at Yínlíngquán SP-9

·  Follows the medial face of the thigh to bind in the groin before converging at the external genitalia

·  Ascends the abdomen to bind at the umbilicus

·  Enters the abdomen, binds at the ribs, and spreads in the chest


·  From the inside of the chest, a branch adheres to the spine


Lower Body (Leg Deep Line)

Nerves:

  1. Spinal Nerves:
    • L1-L5 (Lumbar Plexus): Innervates the muscles of the lower abdomen and thigh, including the iliopsoas and adductors.
    • S1-S4 (Sacral Plexus): Innervates the muscles of the pelvis and lower limbs, including the pelvic floor muscles and deep muscles of the leg.

Reflexes:

  1. Babinski Reflex: Involves dorsiflexion of the big toe and fanning of the other toes when the sole of the foot is stroked.
  2. Plantar Reflex: Involves flexion of the toes and foot in response to stimulation of the sole.
  3. Leg Abduction Reflex: Involves the movement of the legs away from the midline of the body.
  4. Tonic Labyrinthine Reflex (TLR): Involves changes in muscle tone in response to the position of the head, impacting the entire body.
  • Corresponding Myofascial Line: Deep Front Line (DFL)
    • Muscles/Structures: Tibialis posterior, adductors, pelvic floor, diaphragm, prevertebral muscles

  • ·         Flexor digitorum longus
  • ·  Lower Leg:
  • ·         Popliteus
  • ·  Thigh:
  • ·         Adductors (adductor magnus, adductor longus, adductor brevis)

  • ·         Psoas major
  • ·         Vastus intermedius (part of quadriceps group)
